Looking for IT Technician (job available)

10 years experience for an intermediate position?
Where is it located?

The first thing this technician should do is fix your website.

Visiting the website without the 'www' in the url results in

screenshot-techniche co za 2015-10-28.jpg

And maybe fix the download link on your site as well - reverts to an ip address which is a 404 - not found.

The details on the position:

Intermediate/Senior Support technician
Salary: R15000-R25000 (depending on experience and knowledge)

Non-negotiables:

Must have own car
Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in IT support

Not sure if serious.

Can't see how a person with 3-5 years exp can't do the job. Why 10?

10 years and R15k? Get out of here.

Probably due to the Windows 2000/Office 1997 requirement - hate to know what type of clients/hardware this poor soul is expected to support ...

Yeah this is a retarded salary. As a programmer I'm supposed to look down on techies, but this is ridiculous for that experience.

I think this job is for those guys who were stuck doing desktop support for 10 years without working on improving their skill-set.

I'm 26 employed as a senior sys admin mentoring a 33-year-old with more years of experience than me but way less technical skills.
I'm guessing he would be the perfect candidate for this job but don't see him going back to desktop support when he's got a job as a junior sys admin now :P

Support technician to end user
Telephonic and onsite support
Must have knowledge of and first-hand experience in troubleshooting problems in Windows 2000-Windows 8, Office 1997-
Office 2013 and Office 360, Mac experience a plus.
Must have knowledge of and first-hand experience in setting up and troubleshooting laptops and desktops with all common
software as listed above.
Intricate knowledge of a wide range of hardware and the latest technologies.
Wireless networks, types and setup[/email]

All of the above refers to basic support that requires a basic skill-set.
I doubt anyone with only the skills above will be paid more than R25 000 whether they have 3 years experience or 20.

was at this company for an interview, they based in a side street of gallo manor

wodnt say I had the most plesaent experience with this "backyard" operation.....

grilled me for over 3 hours, asked me loads of nonsense and highly personal questions,
apparently Im not "Intelligent" enough for their "backyard operation"
left with a horrible overall feeling for people with a lack of respect for others...

Id say give this one a miss, there better things out there then being treated like a A$$ from somebody who treats his workers badly;

even told my recruiter, was quite upset, dont send me to slave ships like this in the future!

stay away, far away......
even if I was desperate I wouldn't go there!

Lol, you must be old dude :p

Got more than 18 years of experience.

But I don't want to go back to grassroots, I want to go upwards, and improve myself.

So I'll give this one a pass.
