Looking for laws/rules pertaining to car requirements

In particular hooter/horn placement, loudness and so on, what are the legal requirements. sorry my googling is failing hard. I've found rules of the road but not anything for vehicles.
 
I always replace my hooters on my cars if it doesn't have a twin system, and you can get a huge variety from Midas or your little spares shop on the corner.

Airhorns are not difficult to fit - brilliant for getting Taxis to move over! :p

As far as legal requirements are concerned - don't bother as nobody would know anyway!

How and where do you put an airhorn. Sounds awesome!
 
I fitted a hooter at the back as well for those mofo's who can't see your reverse lights are on and they need to get out of the way. The look of surprise on their faces are priceless :)

Brilliant - you can get twin or triple horns - expensive ones are made by Hella and you can actually transfer from car to car. I always mount mine in a blank space under the bonnet - you need a relay, and then link it in to the normal hooter wiring.

It's not difficult, but if it scares you, just go to an auto electrician and ask them to fit it.

I want one that sounds like a cop car...to use when people run red lights.
 
I have wanted to fit a decent hooter replacement air horn as I travel at night and want to melt the wax in a donkey's ears.
REALLY LOUD.

(Nice would be electrically powered and not air powered just to make fitting easier - but not Got to be).

I have seen many cheap ones, but can anyone recommend a quality set which do not cost the earth?:confused:

You can buy a pair of Hella units pretty cheaply - when I last looked, they were in the region of 100 bucks each, very easy to fit, as they come with brackets to go in the same place as the OEM units.

Yes I have seen these, and Hella is quality, but they were not loud enough. What a job to return them. That is why I am looking for recommendations (prolly from personal experience).

OK, if you want to go louder then you will probably have to go the airhorn route, and once again, Hella would be my choice.
