Looking for new phone...

Ok here is a slightly "weird" question..

My father is due for a contractual renewal at Vodacom.

MTN is cheaper, so he's going with them, porting his number etc.

He also needs a new phone, since his 3510i is getting a little long in the tooth..

Which phones that have gps included (he is upset with having to purchase a map book every 2 years - name changes and all), also have big buttons?

My father has "builder" hands - weird for a retired Fin. consultant.
So large buttons would be necessary...

He's currently considering the 6220 classic, are there any other (better perhaps?) options available?

Nokia 3110 Classic.
Has all that you need.. it can take a beating as its Nokia, and its buttons are easy to press.
Really good phone... I got one. It fills the needs.

P.S. I rather spend cash on my pc than my phone. Ex. The iPhone is R8,000... PS 3 is 7,000. Hmmm.... WHO IN HIS RIGHT MIND WOULD CHOOSE A PHONE OVER A PS3!!!???

I only know of the HTTC Titan II (My knowledge on the upperclass phones is a bit lacking). But if your dad has "Builder's Hands" he'll crush that poor little touch-screen.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and better to buy the two seperate? Our Garman lasts a lot longer on battery life than GPS on a Cellphone.

The PS3 quote was just a side note... not ment for your dad. lol.

Buying a seperate unit is an option. Though, that means another device he must learn to use (He only just leasrnt how to switch on the pc)...

My dad (Age 51) learnt how to operate a GARMAN all on his own... it only has 4 buttons. I'm so proud of him. Now, only if I can get him to re-install his PC's drivers by himself...then I'll be free and not his personal IT Helpdesk anymore!
I'll ask my boss what would do the job (when he decides to come back to work). He's usually on top of the latest phones and gadgets.

It all still depends on what your budget allows and if your dad is a "12-o-clock flasher".
