Looking for Notebook RAM 2x8GB modules in Cape Town

Any ideas where I can go to to in Cape Town to have 2 x 8GB modules fitted to my laptop? I would rather not buy online only to find out the memory doesn't work with Acer 5750G. It currently has 2 PC3-10600 modules fitted.

The spec seems to say that, but the spec for my previous laptop said limited to 2Gig and I was able to upgrade to 3. I wonder if I should take a chance and just order 1 to see if it will work alongside the other 4Gig module.
 
None of the online IT shops that I know of will keep stock of 8GB notebook RAM modules, so I really don't know where you can go to see if your notebook supports it or not.

You might be able to find someone online who has the same laptop who installed 2x 8GB of RAM.
 
Thanks for the answers so far guys. It seems that 16Gig should be possible with the Intel Core I7-2630QM that my laptop has:

1Gb, 2Gb, and 4Gb DDR3 DRAM technologies are supported for x8 and x16 devices
— Using 4Gb device technologies, the largest memory capacity possible is 16 GB,
assuming dual-channel mode with two x8, dual-ranked, un-buffered, non-ECC,
SO-DIMM memory configuration.

The performance difference is very noticeable. Once you've loaded a large program like Photoshop, loading it later is much quicker with barely any hdd access. The laptop is much more responsive almost like you're running everything out of a RAM disk - I highly recommend this upgrade if you've got 2 Grand to spare.
 
Wow, and I thought spending R800 on 16GB of RAM for my desktop was overspending.
 
@Gnome - My desktop will get upgraded eventually to 16Gig too, but I find I'm using my laptop most of the time since I'm not always at home.

@PostmanPot - was considering a SSD but the price and low capacity put me off.

You could have bought a 240GB SSD for R1K more than you paid for the RAM. Would have made a much bigger difference than 16GB of RAM.

I run both 16GB RAM and 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 in my desktop. SSD was the worthier upgrade IMHO. Also have a standard 2.5 HDD in my desktop for all my stuff.

FYI most laptops can have the upgrade bay (DVD-Rom) fitted with a conventional 2.5" HDD. The kits are readily sold on eBay. I don't use a DVD-Rom, so personally wouldn't and neither do any of my colleagues. I've suggested the idea to buyers in their 40+ (older generation than mine) and they seem to think the idea absurd not having a DVD-Rom :)
