Hi there guys.

I am a new player when it comes to wow (level 21 hunter Alliance) yea I know very noob :)

I have been enjoying the game very much but over the past couple of days I have been wanting to get more out
of the game than just questing all the time.

The only trouble is questing is the only thing I know how to do in the game.

I know there is so much more to the game than just doing quests but I just am too new and noob at the game to know any thing else.

In saying that ,I am looking to join a nice friendly South African guild (if there are any left these days) that are willing to help me learn the game to its full extent.

I would like to "raid" eventually and level up with a great group of friendly guys :)

If there is any one who is willing to help out a fellow WOW noob and invite me the their guild, I would be very grateful :D

Thanks again...

Regards Horhy.

Hi Horhy

I don't actually play that much anymore lately. Waiting for next expansion before I get into fully again. You can try and queue for low level battlegrounds. I took my low level into battlegrounds about a month ago and it was still super fun. Also you can do low level dungeons and meet up with other random people to chat with. As for guilds I'm not sure if there are any big South African guilds and which servers they play. I also only started playing Dec 2012 and me and 3 other friends are on a really low population realm so no big guilds on our realm.

I haven't played wow for years but in my time the trade channel in cities was a place to ask for help, there should also be a channel called Looking for Guild.

The guilds would depend on which realm you are on.
On the Lightbringer realm there is Braaivleis on Alliance side and Prophecy on Horde. Some guilds, like in real life, tend to have 'clicks' where only some people are preferred for raids, dungeons etc. Despite that, there are always people willing to help out, so the benefits are there. With level 25 guilds you should benefit from all the guild perks, like faster leveling and better vendor prices, etc.

From my perspective, the Alliance is too much a resemblance of the 'goody two-shoes' side of the world, but that's my biased opinion ;). On most realms the Alliance has the highest population density, which has the benefit of larger Auction Houses and better pricing of items if you are buying.

In terms of resources, there are plenty. The best is to read up on your class and learn how to play it well.
For glyphs, talents, shots and rotation advice, look at www.icy-veins.com.
I'd suggest the Beast Mastery spec for leveling, as that would likely provide the highest survivability. It's also the current top rated DPS spec for hunters.
huntsmanslodge.com/links has some links to sites, including Petopia for pet info.

I'd suggest that you take up two gathering skills as your primary and secondary professions, as that will ensure you can make some gold.
Mining and skinning are good, but mining and herbalism are also good. Skinning requires killing mobs first, so can be a drag.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the info guys.

Really appreciate it.

I'm currently playing on the chamber of aspects realm (as for as I know its EU) I have seen a couple of level 25 guilds that look good but I have held back from applying to join as I was waiting to see if any one could recommend a good guild to join South African or not.

Again I appreciate the help.

Questing with your first character helps you to get a basic idea of what the World of Warcract is all about so I'd recommend that you continue with it.

Otherwise if you're not into the whole lore (story) thing, you could do dungeons (press I) or some PvP (press H) as well. The game really only starts when you hit level 90 though in my opinion, and by then you'll be quite comfortable with the game.

You should be able to pick up most things as you go along with a lot of help from Google and www.wowhead.com, and generally people ingame are friendly and helpful as well.

I was a bit overwhelmed in the beginning, the game just seemed massively noob-unfriendly but things definitely become easier with time.

A good guild can make a massive difference to your enjoyment of the game so be sure to join one soon, and there's no shame in guild hunting to find one that suits you nicely.

Just be sure to kiss your real life goodbye.

Tell me about it.

When I first started I just sat staring at the screen wondering what on earth I must do.

eventually I figured out how to quest and from there I have just been learning slowly but surely.

I have just managed to get myself a mount and so that I can ride that dam horse of mine :D

Efitol do I need other players in order to do dungeons or can I do them by my self? I have not joined a guild as yet but I have applied to some. :)

Just waiting for a reply from them.

For dungeons and PvP you get placed into a queue with other people and when there are enough people you enter. So no need to be in a group.

Also look out for guilds recruiting on the general and trade chat channels (channels 1 and 2).

Ok great...I will try that tonight when I'm online.

Thanks very much.

OMG a friend has managed to get me playing a bit of WOW again!

Never thought I'd be back playing it. I feel like a lost noob now in this world, but have to say it's still fun and can see with a fresh perspective why its probly the best game ever :D

Now to try and stay casual!

Would recommend you start over on a more South African populated server. To bad you already subscribed as the recruit a friend level boosting may have been handy for you to level up faster and experience the end game and all the other aspects of the game more.

For this type of game it is very important to surround yourself with like-minded people with similar playing schedules.
I am on Shadowsong and been the only South African for most of my time there, but I have met and enjoy playing with a varied bunch of Europeans... Could give you an invite with us, but it is a very old guild and apart from the few people leveling alts, there is not much going on in terms of lower level play.

If you're unguilded you're most probably spammed by guild invites. Join any lvl 25 guild in the beginning. Guild perks should give you a boost to XP, you don't have to actively participate in the guild and you can offcoarse quit the guild at any time if you find one more suitable.
