Hi, apologies if this isnt a precise fit for this forum.
Looking to host a christmas party using my pc, and need some decent speakers that can handle a crowd of around 20.
Instead of buying or hiring big sound, was wondering if there were any gaming speakers that can do the trick. Have a decent budget, but preferably under 2k.
thanks

This depends on whether you are brand specific, I myself believe in Logitech.

Have a 5.1 channel set that Ive now had almost 5 years and they still amazing.

The Z-series have some nice ones around your budget

I would rather get a decent old amp and speakers from a pawn hop. Would sound way better and might even save you some cash.

Get yourself this. I used an old 2x 500w pc power supplies and a monoblock 500W and another 500w 2way car amplifiers connected to a 12" Sony passive sub and 2 sets of tweeters/mids. Sounded pretty decent and made the windows rattle loudly. You can pick up that entire set for under 2k at a pawnshop or 2nd hand store if you have some power supplies lying around.

Those are overpriced cheap chinese kuk. The electronics they use in that are so terrible. A huge step down from the original z5500. Cheap studio monitors will provide much more bang for buck.

I have studio monitors on my PC now, pretty much gave away every Creative and Logitech speaker I have ever owned. For the money they charge you can get some pretty decent pro equipment if you shop around.

Did you use them?

Because I will pretty much dwarf your z5500

We tested it against the HT-DDW7500

And well I preferred the Logitech's sound clarity and base quality

I do agree the Z5500 was one of the best quality speakers logitech made

Get a subpak.

They really do work.
I've used one in the studio before and it is pretty amazing really.
Give you the full sub kick in your chest without anyone standing next to you hearing a thing.
