Hey guys,

I'm trying to locate one of these adaptors to get a mobo working. Replaced PSU but the motherboard uses non-standard power connections, hence the need for this adaptor.
It's a 24-pin to 6-pin + P2 adaptor, for an HP. Can get them on Bid-or-buy but I'd prefer to source locally if possible.

The guy literally laughed and said they don't exist, I must be confused. I didn't argue, just moved on.

FXN1 E93839 mobo.

The guy at Matrix? If so he sould not be working in a PC store. :crylaugh:

Yup. To be fair, Matrix employees young people and modern mainstream PCs don't use things like this. Still, should have been willing to look I suppose.

I'll just grab it from Bid or Buy as I think that is an HP workstation cable and not many will sell it, had one but chucked it away.

Correct, that's what it's for. I'd prefer sourcing locally, hoping someone here has one in a box somewhere or an old HP sitting in the garage or what have you.

I mean, they guy should know some tech if he works in a PC store. Do a simple A++ course to learn the basics.

I agree with you and on general-use goods they absolutely should know. This, however, is not general-use. The HP Workstation motherboard uses an odd power setup, hence the need for the adaptor. I don't think any companies selling mainstream components do a similar thing these days.

Do you perhaps know the model of HP that would have that cable? We have a lot of old HP's here at work.
