So I've had an issue with my noise level and intermittent connection in storms. When I say intermittent, I mean a sync\resync every 2-4 minutes and basically not usuable.

My noise is sitting at 6.3db and drops under 6 in storms when it is not usuable.

I raised a fault and the guy just went to my house now. He phones and says the issue is the cable from line > modem which has no clip.

It is just put in the port and as long as I don't pull the router, or stays in. I'm not sure they is the issue...

Is the line not either on or off?
Would this introduce noise?

My phone line gets a static type noise almost every time that there's rainfall/storm.
My stop-gap solution (until a Telkom techie can fully resolve the problem) is to pick up the phone until I hear the static go away. Presto! No internet connectivity issues/line drops thereafter (that is until the next batch of bad weather).

Hehe. Thanks... I'll see what happens next storm
