Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is the place to ask technical questions, and I am currently talking to my ISP. But I was wondering if any of you might have any idea what's going on?

So Openserve came to install fibre at my house today (about 3 hours ago it was done), and I was busy trying to setup the router and everything but it just didn't wanna work. But then I saw all the lights on the ONT are shining steadily, except for the "LOS" light. This seems to be the problem, and I was wondering if any of you might have any advice for me please!

Much appreciated guys :)

Last time our LOS light went out after an install it was because they pulled the fibre line to tight in the roof (explanation from another Telkom technician) so he reinstalled it and it’s been working ever since.

LOS stands for Loss of Signal. If this light is on, or flickering, it means your line has packet loss or is not making a connection to the OLT (Optical Line Terminal) back at the exchange. In short, you have not been patched into the splitter or their is a fibre break somewhere along the line.

Openserve will need to rectify this. Until then, you will not be able to make a successful PPPOE session to your ISP.

Hope that helps
