Hi all,

OK, so my Telkom line was down for around 4 days due to stolen cables. When they got it repaired again, I was able to connect all of my devices to the router properly without any issues except for my Samsung Galaxy A5. I can connect to the Wi-Fi, and it allows me to have an internet connection on the device for about 1 minute. Then, everything just stops working. The Wi-Fi icon is still there, but I'm unable to do anything remotely related to the Internet. I keep getting connection errors on all my apps after about a minute of working on the device. If I disconnect and reconnect the Wifi, it works again for said minute.

Now, I have reset my router to factory defaults and also reset my phone to its factory settings. Same issue. What on earth could be causing this? All other phones in the house work perfectly fine, and the issue only started after the downtime on my Telkom line. I'm stumped.:confused:

Try changing the channel on the router. I had this problem with my iPhone 6 Plus but all other devices worked.

Yashin is correct

The a5 works on a/b/g/n wifi whilst other new phones work on a/b/g/n/ac. Its a trial and error thing to see which channel works or you could google what frequency ac works on and omit that on ur settings

Thanks guys. I've changed the channel, set the phone to forget the network and reconnected from scratch. Seems to be working perfectly now (touchwood). I was about to throw the phone under a bus.

Much appreciated!
