Sometimes bandwidth just works in your favour.
I used 350meg yesterday that still hasn't been recorded.

Telkoms methods are wobbly at best - I still don't know at which point in the day they switch to the next.

I say leach while you can you may never get another chance (-;

Yep - it appeared !

I really wish I knew WHEN Telkom counts this ?
Up until 8.30am on the 26th I was reported as having used about 50meg total on the 25th
I checked again this morning and the missing bandwidth was now accounted for on the 25th.

Very irritating - why can't they get it right first time ?

That's the problem adlo - we have no idea exactly when and how the whole bandwidth thing gets measured.

Some people say early morning, some say after midnight - any conclusive time on this ?
I suppose it doesn't really matter, I'm sure setting a d/l going at midnight on the 2nd last day of the month and leaving it running till midnight of the last day would be the best bet to ensure you :-

a. don't kill the cap before you get a chance to d/l as much as possible
b. don't go into the next months bandwidth usage.

I actually haven't done this yet - in November, I only got connected on Nov 27th, so I had a ton of bandwidth left over. In December, I was away for 8 days, including the last day of the month.

hmm, well with me if i got disconnect the restart the router and it makes a new connection to the DSLAM, then about 5 minutes later i can go check my stats and see the current usage!

Hmmm, so it didn't disconnect you at 9:00AM this morning and reflect your bandwidth usage for the 30th ?

It did with me - I pushed it to the limit of 30meg under my CAP so I can leave it downloading the whole day and into the morning of the 1st.

Nothing like having two accounts! :P But yeah, it's pretty irritating. I've heard Mweb accounts get updated on-the-fly? Or was someone talking rubbish..
Nope...definitely rubbish, sometimes 24-36 hours delay on MWeb

Nope Mweb does active capping, and so does x-dsl as I have heard from a couple of users.

These are sad facts.

I've done 4gig this month and still going strong. Did the disconnect trick at 23h30 last night and wasn't capped this morning. Been dl'ing WoW Beta all day :)

adlo - I must remember that trick for next month.

Damn torrent file let me down BIG time - got home, 15mb downloaded, 250mb uploaded ! - ahahahaha - nice one !

Oh well, gonna listen to the highest quality streaming audio my connection will take all night, download tons of software and other useless stuff and generally kid myself the 3gig cap is working for me ... :(
