Lost my spellcheck in firefox

yes, I know to tick the option, but it no longer checks mty mispelling when I type. Any ideas, using ff 3.5.5

Upgraded to FF 3.6 and lost my spellchecker so went to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3366
and installed the British English , where is the South African one ?
