I always get my best advice here on the my broadband forums,so here goes...
A friend in the states sent me an expensive 4 piece fly fishing rod via fedex about a month back.I have the tracking number.She sent a fedex box & a fedex tube(with the rod).I received the box about 2 weeks ago but didnt receive the fedex tube.
Called fedex from this side and they say the tube is lost.Followed up from the US side and they say it was last scanned in Dubai,no further record.They have told us the parcel is "lost" now and we should fill in the claim form BUT and its it BIG BUT,my friend undinsured the rod by a large amount,so if we were to claim i would lose about 4k.
I realise this is my mistake ie not making sure it was insured properly,but is there any thing more i can do?
I reckon it could be stuck in customs Jhb or something?
