Lost phone :( Block?

So I lost my phone. Dont know if someone else has it or if it's just lying somewhere. If I block it, will I be able to unblock it if I find it?

Hi the best option is to "soft lock" it, this prevents the phone from making calls etc… but can still receive calls. Just contact your service provider and request the lock then if found you can unlock it… the unlocking takes around 1 hour.

What phone is it? If it's an Android phone, you can use Google's DeviceManager to locate or lock it https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

Thanks - didn't know about that link mitch, very handy! Unfortunately all it tells me is that it's been off since Friday.
