Lost/Stolen Phone

Hi all,

Lost my phone over a month ago. I had a few phone recovery apps, but those didn't help. I didn't count on tracing it anyway, until yesterday. I received emails from Mcafee antivirus, to the effect that 2 different sim cards had been inserted into my lost/stolen phone.

I later noted that this wasn't the first time. Saw an earlier missed email with a similar message. The messages come with the full mobile numbers of the sim cards inserted. I don't recognise any of the numbers but they are all South African.

I had already blocked my phone using its IMEI number.

Can this information from Mcafee be any useful in at least identifying the culprits who are playing with my phone.

I understood from previous posts that the police won't really use RICA information unless you make time (and energy) to apply for authorisation...or something like that...
 
By the way I tried locating the phone this morning but Mcafee was unable to do so. A while back I got a message that another different sim card had been inserted, I quickly logged on to Mcafee and traced the phone to an address in Sunnyside (map and street address).

I seem to have managed to switch my Mcafee accounts between my old and new phone though, because Mcafee is now tracking my new phone instead of the lost one. I've since uninstalled Mcafee from the new phone and hope the old phone will be tracked instead. At least the sim card tracked is consistently the one last located in Sunnyside.
 
What phone is this . If Android can track on Google webpage too

Thing is I seem to have limited window periods to access the phone remotely; when the culprits are trying on different sim cards to see which one will work;-).

In any case vodacom suggested to go to police as already suggested. Apparently sometimes the police do help...all depends on individual circumstances. I'm more curious who has it than really getting the phone back. Getting it would be a plus though.

Through your Google account you can locate your phone using a GPS (if it is turned on) or GSM (with less accuracy). You can also lock the phone, delete all data or have the phone ring continuously for 5 minutes.
 
So went for bike ride along wild coast , phone LG G3 fell out my pocket somehow. Tried to call went to voice mail, tried to locate and gave me a rough idea but searched in the area which has thick bush , tried to call but nothing. Logged in to google account and requested erase and lock, asked mtn to block phone and number. So looking whether or not insurance will cover? I bought phone from orange store before they closed down. Was on pay as you go. Should I bother with insurance claim?
 
My spare cell phone got stolen. Never put a sim in it and only used it with my Wi-Fi. I cannot get it blocked. Went 2 various network providers. What is the use of having an IEM number if u cant block a phone if it did not have a sim in it. Is there anyway I can block it so I can obtain ITC number for insurance purpose.
