Lost Telkom uncapped Connection, help

Hi guys

Can those who are technically inclined assist with my telkom uncapped issue. Am wondering if my only resort is to call them?

anyway last night at about 21:00 I lost my connection and even this morning I still have the same problem.

anyway I'll attach screenshots

I've resterted the modem a number of times, I also tried using the connection with a different laptop and the problem persists.
 
Your DSL not syncing - light isn't on. Do you have a dial tone on your telephone? Check the phone line to the modem. Last time this happened to me at 21:00 some buggers had stolen the copper cables down the road.

I do not have a dial tone but when I call my number, I can hear the ring from the calling device but the phone itself isn't ringing or flashing to alert me of a call.
 
Telkom says it's cable problems in the area(Ferndale/Randburg), either stolen or damaged. So they can fix it by July 6 earliest, that's almost 3 weeks downtime. Apparently they have a pro rate refund policy for downtime this long but the refund doesn't really make up for the lost downtime!

geez ADSL uptime in SA can be crappy, 1 might as well have a wireless backup plan.
