Hi almal. When I was driving this morning, my car made a loud bang on what sounded like the passenger side (sounded almost like someone threw a rock at the window very hard, but it was not that). The car jerked for a few seconds and then drove normally. When I drove long distance the other day, I heard something similar, but at that point it didn't jerk, and prior to that driving long distance as well, something soft and like a black foam hit my passenger side which started all of this (not sure if it was from another car). Does anybody have any advice on what it could be? Taking in the car to be checked later in the week, but just wondering if anyone has an idea on what it could be?

What car?

It could be a stabilizer bolt that has come loose/lost. This will allow the stabilizer bar to twist and tap/knock against your LCA/wishbone.

ETA: Could also be a loose drop-link.

I would not drive the car before it is checked.

Checked that first and they were fine.
the fact that it affected the steering says something around the wheel or steering mechanism, may be a blown gas shock ,look for oil on the top of the shock absorber inside of the cover if possible, also could be your serpentine belt is coming apart ,but that shouldnt affect steering.shine a torch onto the shock inside of the spring and look for oil ,they can slowly die
