Low budget semi-gaming pc

AMD have good low budget offerings. Intel is good too, their Pentium dual core E6500 for example.

Good budget cpu the E6500. Downside is you stuck with the nearly dead LGA775 platform. One thing i love about AMD is the scalability of their platforms. 939 is the only real time they did an intel on us. Before that, you could go from a 500mhz thunderbird/duron(my memory's hazy) all the way to an athlon xp 2000+ on one socket

Great prices, less than 10% on top of suppliers' prices (rebeltech's ram is cheaper tho:D)

On an unrelated note, amazingly ATI's still making agp cards. Never knew you could get dx10 on agp!

So that means going for AMD would be a wise choice? So then why does people still stick with Intel?

I've seen this system @ cafeviva for R3500- intel e5400 dual core 2.7ghz cpu, case (looks like crap) + 400w psu, intel g31 chipset mobo, 2gb ddr2 ram, 1gb geforce 9600gt ddr2 mobo, 22x dvd writer, keyboard+mouse and stereo speakers and 500gb sata hdd. Im no expert, but it doesnt look like much to me. However, the price is somewhat attractive plus there's a store in claremont ct so there's not much problem picking it up. What do you guys think? Good deal or ripoff? And has anyone had dealings with cafeviva? Hows their service? Once again, thanks alot you guys this thread's really been helpful so far.

I haven't heard good things about them but I have bought a few things from them without a single problem.

That CPU isn't half bad either, I had an e5200 up until not so long ago and it could play just about everything on max. That system is alright but i'm sure some here with a dealer account could get you better..
