Low cost broadband through TV white spaces

Please don't confuse our DoC with any new tech now, they're still trying to figure out what the hell this 'digital' thing is.
 
SA are actually running white space trials for the last few months. It involves Google, TENET, CSIR Meraka, eSchools Network and WAPA, ICASA is fully behind it. It will maybe one day bring content such as elearning to remote schools etc
 
the only way to get this here is to make sure you "hire" the boyfriend of the minister for a ridiculous amount of money .. .then you can do as you please
 
Microsoft intends to use this pilot and other similar initiatives to encourage African governments to make the needed legal and regulatory changes that would allow this type of technology to be deployed continent wide.

Micheal Dell bought over some white space in the US for testing purposes, remember reading the article last year... I highly doubt it will happen in South Africa, we won't be ready for Digital Television(Top set boxes) deadline. I spoke to a guy in the UK he says they far behind. They still use the legacy system but a simple way to do it..
