my reception bars went to zero this afternoon and i couldnt make/receive calls or sms for about 5 mins. the reception came back on but since then the signal has been very weak.

anyone else experience this? this is starting to bug me now as i am getting 1 bar reception at home when i used to get full bars.

Oh, I get this all the time.

When I'm not on the internet, I do a reception search, and connect to a Vodacom tower, and subsequently get full bars.

I'm making a thread now about what happens when I'm at home ;p

If you have a phone capable of 3G switch it into GSM mode only. A lot of phones are trying to connect to the new CellC 3G towers which which the phone can pick up but not register on... Then it constantly tries to connect to the 3G tower and you can't receive messages or make calls for a few minutes. Switch 3G mode back on when the network goes live

Seems like the 3G issue as well, see my post above. Switching network to Vodacom generally helps to resolve the problem. Again, switch your phone into GSM mode only and you won't have the problem anymore. Tested this extensively with different phones
