LTE - best way in

Interested on getting LTE.
Would greatly appreciate some advise & opinion on the best way in device wise.

OP, only 8ta will be selling the devices/modems required to make use of the LTE network..

Patience until 8ta/Telkom Mobile communicate to the general public.

Example - packages / bundled packages with hardware.

Am looking forward to it although looking around at early device pricing thinking patience past the network announcements will be required. reminds me of what paid for my first 3g dongle ( about R1800) and how much a similar replacement would cost today - R199. guess that's just the curse of the early adopter which dictates in order to feed the new teq enthusiasm you either sell your soul to network provider for 24 months or shell out the bucks (2k) knowing full well that within year or two same item will be had for R200.

Example if 8ta were to offer such deal 200 gig data + dongle for R2999 I would be willing to actually purchase it. My 1st dongle I bought from CELL C with 60gig+dongle for R2999 E1820, E172 paid cash R500, then won a dongle in January and had to sell the dongles at loss. R2000 the lot. Now days you can purchase 3G/HSPDA dongles from R300 - 700. Cell C do have a promotion on LTE dongle+data but it's not compatible with 8ta but compatible with Vodacom & MTN.

I don't like being tied down to a contract even though it's easy finance paying over a period 24months but OOB shockers will probably give me a heart attack... I prefer paying upfront for my devices/smartphones even though it will hurt my pocket without getting any benefits such as free minutes, free data etc.

Hopefully the launch of LTE is soon, already seen websites being updated with information regarding LTE but no price available as yet. Check if you area is capable of receiving 8ta LTE service www.8ta.com/lte

Agree with you on the contract issue. Thanks to the recent economic ressession, after being on contract since the first year we had cell service in SA , found myself having to go prepaid . turns out that, apart from maybe having to be a bit patient and more thoughtful regarding the latest teq, prepaid is blessing. I've always likened the "contract" as a "sell your soul" situation.
