I have seen some threads about issues people are having with LTE but it doesn't look like this particular issue has been resolved.

LTE worked fine for weeks and I loved it. One day it stopped working out of the blue. When I force my Mifi to connect to 4G only it says it is connected by I get no throughput. When I check the speedtest app on my phone it looks like I am not getting an IP address on the network. I then force it to connect only using 3G and everything is fine - I get an IP and can use the Internet. I have logged numerous calls but all that happens is a call is then logged with MTN. Sometimes that fixes the problem for a few hours but then I am back to square one.

My wife is on MTN LTE (not with Afrihost) and hers always works.

I bought an LTE Mifi from Afrihost especially for LTE and now I can't use it. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?

Check the APN settings so that it is configured for the LTE apn on the Service Provider that you use.

APN set to Afrihost. Switching between 3G and 4G doesn't help. 3G works and 4G gives me no throughput or IP address.

Account up to date. Lots of data left.

SIM provisioned for LTE.

I am making the assumption you haven't contacted Afrihost as it is not stated above.
Do so as something is wrong with either your provisioning or there APN

There were many threads on this and I also had issues. I resolved to only use Afrihost LTE on an iPad (no voice) or a fixed installation e.g. B593 CPE. This issue only plagues cellular handsets that can make voice calls.

Good luck and do keep us updated...

Hate to say I've proven myself wrong. My LTE provisioning went through today so I started using my connection when I came home.

Very unstable, half the time zero upload and the other half latency failed i.e. no throughput. Sigh, it wasn't like this in Jan.

Seems fine again as of last night.

My new Afrihost LTE connection; LTE provisioning went through yesterday. :)

Speeds are down from Jan 2014 (30Mbps+) but my tower has been slower for the past month and a bit (same experience with Telkom Mobile LTE; possibly a backhaul issue).

Just an update. It randomly started working a few weeks ago after I had given up all hope. Still pretty slow throughput but better than MTN's 3G performance where I am. Put an Axxess SIM in and it flies, change immediately to an Afrihost SIM and the speed drops. So tired of Afrihost that I am not going to bother to log a call etc. It is fine for my needs now and the 20 gig account suites my pocket.
