Hi all

My Telkom Lte Contract is finished,I would like to switch over to another isp . I do get good speeds 74mb/s download and around 11mb/s upload so that’s not a worry.

Are there any service providers that have a similar package to the Telkom LTE 200GB+200GB or even same package for a lower price and with good ratings and custom service?

With Uncapped lte is there always a fair use policy before your speed gets throttled I.E I won’t be able to download more than the 200GB+200GB I’m on with unlimited speed? The only other service provider I’m familiar with is mweb.

Any help and recommendations will be great

get fibre if you have coverage
This.

good ratings
Forget about this. EVERY service provider has thousands of bad ratings. Just get the best value for money.
That said, keep in mind to go for a reputable (well-known) internet provider, not something like "Ingrid's Internet" or "LTE by Louis".

Ye your 100% right. They are all the same. My area has fibre but I don’t have a line unless you don’t need one.

i am new on this forum. Currently we got a adsl/landline with only 2mbs speed. We need to ugrade to something faster but with retirement coming up, don't want to spend too much. Fibre is getting installed in our area. I went to our local Telkom shop but the lady was not helpful at all and listening to what we want nor explaining the different options and how it works. We went from Telkom to Vodacom and - maybe is my lack of knowledge - but we were offered a little modem which i still dont know if we can connect the desktop computer which is not wireless...Price wise - what is better? LTE or fibre and which service providers to use? will the little Vodacom modem be able to connect with a cable? If we cancel the Telkom and use Vodacom - will we still be able to use our [email protected] email address?

I have a 40/10 VDSL line, any LTE contract that can match that speed (looking for 20+ upload.)

Any half decent LTE can match those speeds, the problem comes in with the amount of data you need, not the speed.

Get rid of the TelkomSA.Net email requirement, as if you cut the adsl youll will need to pay to keep and access the email.

What hardware do you have? You must have some really poor signal to get those speeds

Edit: here is a quick test on Telkom LTE (original uncapped) while streaming a full HD feed to Facebook at the same time.

Alright, that looks a little more promising.

Is the the LTE fixed lte you can get from Web Africa?

Does Telkom have a hard speed cap or is it signal dependant (I don't mind putting a lte tower up on the roof if it means faster speeds.)

The contract I have has been discontinued, so only way to get it is to take over an existing contract from someone else. Finding someone willing to give up their contract is the tricky part, although I have seen people advertising on Carbonite.

I think my original point is that speed shouldn't be the issue with LTE, pricing is

Well speed is an issue.

All LTE contracts I know off are shaped.

There are none (currently) that match VDSL and most certainly not Fiber.
