LTE Down in Lyttelton, Centurion Only Edge

I've been having endless issues since I moved to Lyttelton in Centurion late last year. I have constantly EDGE and only certain times I get 3G. The past two days in was amazed that I had LTE and now it's back to EDGE again. I have sent through enquiries to MTN with no avail. Coverage map shows my location in the middle, can someone please assist to what the problem might be?

Only explanation that I can offer is that the available bandwidth must be hogged by all the Nigerian drug lords operating out of the area.

None of my MTN / Afrihost devices ( IPad air and mifi) function reliably in the Lyttelton area. I usually switch to Vodacom or CellC in the area which actually works.

The coverage maps are usually best guess. It is not so easy in practice.

Using an Xperia Z3, all other areas are fine though within the coverage area such as Bryanston, etc.

Same here, only Edge available on MTN in Die Hoewes / Lyttelton, north of Jean ave. Fustrating indeed!

Download an app that test the signal strength. I am curious to know whats your RSSI reading. I have noticed if your rssi is over -98 forget about it your signal is weak and you will have to purchase an indoor antenna or like the other member said the base station is hogged. Do yourself a favor and get prepaid sim card of a competitor to see how their service compare.
