Getting 8 ms ping on my ADSL...(real-life in game reading - tf2 today). Oh and thats using dirt cheap ADSL data. (OK in fairness it stabilizes round the 13ms mark)
If you can get sub 8ms ping to a popular local game server on LTE then I'll retract my words and publicly concede defeat....until that time - I contend that you are full of sht.
That being said - this is a little pointless because I know for a fact that LTE won't break single digit latency even if you're on an *entirely* empty tower. e..g Ping any game SA server from your LTE connection - see if you get a 8ms response...
As for LTE being better than ADSL most of the time...lol - you'd be hard pressed to find *any* scenario where LTE beats ADSL for gaming. LTE will beat ADSL occasional on throughput but thats about it. And throughput is irrelevant for gaming - fast & stable OKish throughput wins the day.
That being said - LTE rocks in term of mobility - which is what you should be arguing if you want to win this debate.
It would depend on location. The route the traffic travels on LTE is usually not the same as on ADSL and that is where adsl have the advantage. It has a more direct route to the server. Local I will side with you in terms of latency but I have not done LTE tests to local servers and from different locations so I can not comment on that.
What I can say is that Richards Bay, KZN with MTN LTE gives 198ms to League of legends which is French or German server. My 13.2Mbps ADSL line with no matter what ISP gives a average of 210ms. Now since latency is not affected by throughput* so why would the latency be so different? Its always better than my adsl connection and that is why I made the statement which I did.

RTS games maybe but definitely not FPS." is most certainly not true and I'm sure I can prove it to you if I could travel to different locations and connect to a few "test" servers.
LTE is not as bad as you make it out to be.
Would it get 8ms ping to a server as you said you are getting with ADSL? I don't know but neither do you it seems so from my side I will have to add a [citation needed] to my post
I just quickly did a Test to prove that locally LTE might not be the fastest but not bad at all. This is for my location only so its not a accurate figure of how LTE will perform for anyone.
Telkom Mobile LTE. Connected to my mifi via wifi. Telkom LTE tower +- 5KM from me. SAIX server tested in Durban from Richards Bay
Telkom ADSL line syncing @ 13.2Mbps with a attenuation of 39.5dB which is +- 2.5KM from the exchange. ISP used is Telkom Internet. SAIX server tested in Durban from Richards Bay.
LTE is 16ms higher than a direct adsl line. This is not bad at all and I think the difference would have been smaller had I been closer to the tower. Just another reason why LTE is so good for long distance low latency that is still very playable on both local and international games.
I'm not here to start a argument just saying that LTE is good and in most cases FOR ME performs better than ADSL in League of Legends which is the only game I play online mostly.
