My wife's trying to find a LTE modem that plugs into a USB drive, that will work on MTN. I've had a quick look at the usual suspects to purchase such, but can't seem to find any hits. Anybody perhaps able to point me in a direction of a store that stock of such please?

I found the best all-round solution was using the WiFi hotspot on a cheap cellphone with LTE - cheaper and with longer battery life than the dedicated mobile hotspot devices with LTE. Also does double duty as a backup phone.

Bought a Nokia Lumia 625 from TakeALot for about R1300.

They need to plug the modem into an existing router, so I'm not sure if one could even do that using a cellphone as a replacement.

A bit of history, they'll be losing Telkom connectivity at one of their branches for a couple of weeks, so will have to go via LTE, hence them looking for a USB modem to plug into the router.

This one will work on MTN, Vodacom and Telkom LTE, unlike the one from Orange which won't work on Telkom LTE.
Thanks, I'll send that one along as well, although they are looking at using MTN, but it never hurts to cover all the bases.

If you are going to service a large amount of users, then go with a USB stick into an router.
