Luke Watson Thread

do you mean what you say and say what you mean, you mean :D

@ Hypothesis

I fail to see what this has to do with the price of eggs?

This
is why I posted that bit about their history...

Okay I doubt his dad is seen as a hero and he is definitely NOT seen as a hero.

Oh, and this lovely piece of intelligence...

Him and his dad is an disgrace for SA rugby. On a personal note he can play some but his blatant arrogance he inherited from his dad makes him a mental pig.

And then...

So you are saying that a white person who played with black people during the apartheid era is a hero? The ANC adores him.. So what?

Once again. Re-read the thread and repeat after me. Luke Watson said what he said because of his background. Luke Watson got pushed into Jake Whites Bok team because of his background. Luke Watson's dad was friends with the current minister of sport and hence because of his background Luke Watson said what he said...and which ultimately leads to the basis of THIS thread and why Luke Watson is hated so much.

I was merely explaining why and where it all came from. Whether the ANC love Cheeky Watson or not I really don't care but you and I know that almost 70% of South African's love the ANC (whether you like it or not) and anyone who was against the previous establishment is seen as a hero. Simple facts. Whether you like them or not means nought to me. Whether Watson is right or wrong means nought to me to. I don't like the man myself but thats purely because of rugby reasons.

What does a hero in the 70's playing with black people have to do with his son who wants to puke on the springbok jersey.

lol. To stop myself appearing like a troll I shall refrain from commenting on this thread again after this.
I just suggest you go and get the full speech he gave that night, puking on the jersey is just a bit of it. He hates the Bok emblem because he sees it as linked to Apartheid, his dad refused an invite to try out for the Boks in the 70's because he was anti-segregation. He is pissed off at the treatment he got by the other Boks when he first got his cap. Basically he sees the Springbok emblem as an Apartheid symbol (hence an understanding of his family background helps.) He also doesn't like the fact the game is still largely Afrikaner run.

Him and his "dad" still remain idiots! Apartheid donkeys?

Well nobody is troll if they are asking questions and acting rationally, i do however find it most amusing that black springbok players wear it with pride but he wants to puck on it.

Please the oke is a loser who cannot move on from the past. The beast has not said he wants to puke on his jersey nor has any other black South African player who has worn the shirt with pride.

I cannot think of any black player who said they want to puke on it, maybe you know of some.

Luke is actually clever.

He gets into this political bull so get coverage and be talked about.
There's no such thing as bad publicity..

But anyway, he's an idiot, I LOVED it when Hendro Scholtz pushed his head into the ground last Saturday.

Luke is one of those guys, where, when he enters a room, the combined IQ of everybody in the room drops by a couple of points. Kinda like Philip Burger was too.. :D

Luke sure played me quiet this season. The man was a machine. On average he's playing against 30000 ppl when not at newlands.

I think sport and politic sshould not be mixed.. and luke should have never been pushed into the springbok side like he was when the coach didn't want him there... this is the reason the other springboks did not accept him...

And I was one of the "PUUUUKKE" guys at newlands.. But i must say the last 4 games he has played he has been phenominal almost springbok level.. but i doubt he will play for them again..

as the moment he is a great player.. i really dissagree with his view and hope the politicial stay out of if... that being said if he doesnt like it he should change it or refuse a springbok jersery..

Ps Beast is a Zimbo..

LOL, don't get me started on Philip Burger :D

I hate that idiot!

I say if he is the best then let him play, but sad truth is as well as he has played this season he is not the best 8th man.

Did you see Spies outpace the Crusader's backline players on Saturday?:eek:
I dunno about Kanko's form though. He didn't impress me this year. Likewise I doubt PdV would want to upset the team dynamics at an important time such as a Lions tour so highly doubt Watson will get a Bok jersey this year. He'd probably turn it down anyway.

Yes and the other thing is he is still playing flanker... although it is from the back of the scrum. With Schalk, Juan and brussouw there (hope he is on the bench or starting :D) there is no need for a 8th man like Watson. Spies will add 100 times more value to the trio because he is 100 times more attacking (also a 100 times better at it :p) and can be used for line outs.
