Hi,

my dad dropped his lumia 900, it has a big crack through the middle, but not very bad. my question is does this actually void the warranty? even before any repairs have been done on the screen, is this correct?

I would think it is negligence on your side. Warranty voided.

eish thanks, and its only a few months old, hes pretty upset that he did that.

and apparently replacing the screen costs about +-R1800 to sort out. :erm:

I would think he is quite upset.

Its only my opinion that it's negligence. Perhaps phone your service provider?

Eina. Just yesterday my Lumia 900 spontaneously flew out of my hand and bounced on cement paving. The SIM cover popped open. But I can't seen even a tiny nick. Amazing.

Warranties don't cover user damage, whether intentional or accidental. For the latter, insurance is an option.

lucky you ;)

No insurance on the phone, will give the service provider a shout and see what they say.

Amazing how these things all of a sudden develope these suicidal tendancies. Very annoying and frustrating makes one want to teach it a lesson and throw it against the wall.

The service provider said he must take it with proof of purchase and they will see what they can do, he said another customer brought his cracked s3 in (dropped also) and they replaced it free of charge, there is a little hope...
