Anyone have any news about this handset coming to South Africa?

I want to try a Win7 handset and this one seems to be the best. Either that or i'll just get another iPhone.
 
These South African cell phone companies are annoying me. They should bring in all phones (ok maybe not all but all the top ones) and let the consumer decide what they want. I was interested in the Lumia 900 but the only reason I will not get it (if anyone brings it in) is that my next phone will be the Nokia 808 Pureview.
 
Don't hold your breath. You're going to be waiting will Q3 for a major SP to start selling them.

The 800 is very nice, and just as good as the 900 if you are ok with the smaller size, and no FFC.

Not really bothered about the FFC. got my tablet for skype/facetime.

It's all the negative press about the rubbish battery life on the 800 that worries me. The 900 has a 25% 'bigger' battery. i'm sure the slightly larger screen wont drain it that much faster.

lol, if the OP is anything like me (or generally any techy person) then even the "5" on the end of "15" is a long time.
Keep in mind, I said Q3, I don't have an exact date as yet.

@OP, most of that came before the new update. Best would be to get someone elses opinion on that though - I dev with my 800 so have it plugged in a lot. However I haven't found it to be a problem even when I'm away from home. Get's min of a day, with some games.
 
I purchased a lumia 900 from the states as a gift for my mums birthday. .. about a month ago...
But silly me i didnt confirm if it was unlocked... So im stuck with a useless phone...
Its quite stunning tho.. The cyan blue makes it look even sexier..

Ouch! What network? A quick search reveals that there are lots of unlock sites, that will give you an unlock code for a fee. Most seem to not do at&t though.
 
I'll be able to get a new phone start of July. Hopefully 900 has been launched by then. Old iPhone 3gs tonked out on me, now back on my old HTC magic. Sloooow everything.
 
Pfft If I don't sit and play games and hang in the market whole time my battery last till the next day.
Now that I've calmed down I don't have a issue with my battery.
 
I just wanted to point out that my Q3 prediction for the 900 was spot on :P
 
Does anyone have this phone yet? I'm considering Lumia 900, Iphone 4S or the Galaxy S3. If someone can give me some feedback on this phone it will be great :)
 
I was gonna get the 900 but after hearing that it cannot be upgraded to WP8, i will just wait for the next windows mobile device. I have the One X and love it but it does have the wifi issue. It should be rectified quite soon though. I can definitely recommend it.
 
Had a look at the One X, I'm worried about the WiFi issue, I only work on WiFi. I will only look at it once they fix it. I do think the S3 is in the same boat as the One X.
