Hi. Does anyone know when the Lumia 950/950XL will be available through the Vodacom shops. From customer care to sales at VodaWorld to the staff at the shops have no idea. Replies range from "no idea" to "Vodacom not going to sell them" Mauritz

This the result of allowing those Samsung bulldusters to overrun your Vodashop franchises. Ockie this is my unchanging view.

The Vodashop staff in general do not understand the Windows Phone OS consequently cannot answer questions about this OS, thus easier to state "Do not know" and " Not in stock" and " Vodacom does not sell these" as opposed to the Android OS phones with Samsung reps assisting potential customers with VC queries inside the shop punting their android trash phones. To the extent that Samsung supplies their T-shirts to VC staff members to wear whilst on duty. Ockie no apologies for my lack of any love of Android OS. Best wishes for 2016.

No worries. That is your view.

But the story with the Nokia 950 was that the shipment was stuck in customs. A peep asked in the deals thread and I enquired when the stock will be arriving and they said not sure as the shipment is being held back in customs. There is not much Vodacom can do but follow the procedures to get it released.

Does the standard 950 come boxed with the Continuum kit or is that a special version?

I dont know. Can I interest you in a Samsung S6 perhaps?
 
Ok...have put in a query with the supply planner regarding the kit. I dont see it mentioned on any of our deals or brochures, so I am provisionally going to say no, it does not.
 
Got my 950XL from the SA Microsoft store a few weeks ago. Any one been able to find the continuum dock locally? Even the SA MS store still says coming soon.
 
The dock available from Orange at half the price MS store is advertising it for. I have the MS wireless adaptor and working just as good. You can get a type c to usb female from any IStore to which you can link a usb dock to have space for mouse and keyboard but these will cost more or less the same as the price of the dock. Wireless adaptor also used with my Surface Pro 3 to stream content to larger tv screen.
 
I was in Vodacom Hemingways today and performed an upgrade for the boss\dad. His Lumia XL should be here next week according to the aunty who helped me.
