Lumia Amber update not appearing

Hello

I have a Country Variant Nokia Lumia 920 that I bought from the Orange store. According to Nokia's website it says that the Amber update is available for country variant phones but when I check for OTA updates it says my phone is up to date.
Current firmware version is: 1232.5962.1314.0005

Also I am on 8ta post-paid data.

Anyone have any idea why my phone thinks its up to date?

Check your product code. As far as know Orange imports their phones from the UK so the country variant could be the UK one.
Best check with your product code.

I would suggest that you take your phone to your nearest Nokia Care and they will assist you whether in or out of the one year warranty.
 
MTN are absolutely clueless!

After being cut off a number of times over the past few days, I eventually managed to speak to two "consultants" in the tech department this morning. The one said that I have to take the phone to a Nokia Care Centre as only they can update the phone! I said that's not how OTA updates work and rephoned to speak to another person.

They said that it was up to Nokia and not MTN to roll out, he then conceded that the operator must approve the software. After one excuse after another, he finally admitted that MTN had the software, but it was being tested could not say when it would be rolled out as it was confidential.

Aaargh ....!
 
I have yet to understand why every single operator must test every update. It just creates unnecessary delays. Imagine if you had to wait for your ISP's and telkoms approval to update your router/modem firmware

Realised my phone is an Italy country variant, which does not have the update yet. Did not expect SA to get the update before Italy.

Getting there ... but poor show from MTN for coming so late to the party. I keep clicking on Phone Update every morning ... just in case!

Darn it every other networks update is available except MTN??????:??:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
