For some reason they got my cell phone number and know I have a Luno account, I have never got one of these scam messages or emails ever. When the Trade Union here was hacked I have been getting scam emails and sms's weekly. I presume they have my bank records and details.

Has anyone else had an influx of scam sms's and emails this past month?

I get these and I don’t have a Luno account.

Interesting, maybe I am over reacting, just noticed it this month, never got these types of scams before.

Ignore. Don't click on anything. This old news.

Classic bulk tactic.

If they hit 1000 random numbers and only one idiot gives his details away it was worth it for them.

Who we should be dragging over the coals are the providers allowing these to be sent.

You just assuming it's cause you have an account, we who don't luno or even crypto get these too.

Must be a coincidence, never had these types of sms's or emails ever before regarding crypto. Was putting 2 and 2 together I guess. Started getting in crypto only end of last year. Trade Union being hacked with data leaks. Just panicked a bit.

Yea i suddenly started getting a bunch of weird mails every odd few days. Most likely the database from the Transunion breach has already found its way into the underground forums and been sold off to malicious parties. You could clearly tell they were mass mailing and then attaching a PDF to view. For anyone getting emails like these opening them to view is fairly safe, but DO NOT click on the attachment, not even to preview it in Gmail. Also be careful if you have a preview addon that works by hovering over, those will load the link. Best is to immediately delete anything you find suspect. If it was important they will mail again
