Not sure if you guys have noticed, but Luno's USCD coin is not the same as using www.xe.com
The rates should be USD = USCD but they not
There is a difference of at least 60-70 cents.
Its like robbery, not sure what your thoughts are

its a free market. people ask what they want and others pay for it.

Got nothing to do with "robbery"

If it was a ZAR/USDC trading pair the price would probably be much closer to USD. But it's a BTC trading pair so there's likely a chunk being lost in conversion as well.

This 100x this...
i Am finding the Same on binance : XRP on Binance is 30c a share cheaper than on Luno .Doesnt this make for a one-sided outcome , lending people to instead head to Binance for trading ?
i was under the distinct impression that luno's figures were current/active, as with binance.
This comes then , as a bit of a knock to the system, to find the other exchange being far cheaper.
hoe nou?

welcome to the world of crypto, I belong to 6/7 exchanges buying what I want when I want at the cheapest price :)

So buy a few thousand XRP on binance & send to luno and sell if there's such a big difference. See how it works out. Can almost guarantee that with transaction fees etc. the price ends up being very similar.

This morning for instance. R40k difference in the price of BTC between two platforms.

"Jirrrrrrrrrrrrrrre.

Jissssssssssssssssssissss."

I'm not fluent enough on keyboard to try buy transfer sell , but I'm pretty sure this is more or less how shiftly does their party trick as well.

So snyper you buy crypto on the cheapest platform availables askings ; do you transfer it all then to one central store,

or leave them on each relevant platform bought, and buy/sell accordingly on each plat as prices fluctuate up/down. ?

Curiouser& curiouser...

' the phucks Johann with 2n's now when you need him.

Between which two?
Compare apples & apples. Is it LUNO and VALR or Luno and some international exchange.

Called arbitrage

@Def-e-nition Right...so it's Luno vs Binance. Again - if you think there's a huge difference then take advantage and see how it turns out for you. But again - you'll find you pretty much break even after all is said and done. We've always paid a premium on local exchanges.

I suppose if your dealing in R100k+ it helps, 500ront for clicking a few buttons, do that twice everyday and you double your money yearly :P

@Def-e-nition Think it is ludicrous or just not?
Learning from some guru's , my friend, learning from some guru's .
i have such a long way to go , not much to play with , and only found this by accident, after trying to open an account for my son .
Arbitrage is great: but one , as someone mentioned, would need to be moving R600k figures, etc, in order to take advantage of arbitrage .

R40 000 difference in price is an astoundingly big figure , im just curious to see how it works.

Is Luno still viable for investing ZAR into BTC? Given the new shinanigans by SARS?
It really is nice to have an exchange one can xfer into and out of from your ZA account.

lots of platforms now exist, Luno is just one player, maybe the oldest player, but just one player.

Yeah i don't mean Luno itself i mean investing in a ZA exchange? Or is much over muchness?

Doesn't really matter where you buy your bitcoin. The only thing you're investing in an exchange is your trust if you choose to keep your assets there. Else buy and send to a private wallet.

nothing wrong with diversifying (to borrow the traders analogy) ones portfolio.
and nothing wrong with putting in a few coins to see where it goes,

worth it in the long run.

Imagine you put R10 when BTC was at 1K back in 2015, you would be a multimillionaire now.
