Hi all,

I am in development with opening a luxury LAN gaming lounge for console gamers exclusively.

This is going to be a luxury set up where gamers can play xbox and playstation on flatscreens and recliner couches.

There will be several gaming stations with a flatscreen for one or two users at a time. double recliner couches per gaming station, so you can game with a friend, or alone in comfort.

There will be racing seats available for games like forza on xbox and Gran Turismo on PS 4 VR.
Fastest times of the week get prizes weekly, fastest times of each week enter a competition for fastest of the month, for monthly prizes, then fastest of the month will race at the end of the year for a grand prize.

There will also be two premier gaming rooms with bigger screens and several seats for group gaming. the selection of games available in these rooms will be extensive compared to the regular gaming stations.

This will be located in jhb in the sandton area, and there will be competitions structures and tier levels for leveling up, gaining extra game hours, and additional perks and also gaining access to prizes as well as competitions.

There are also monthly subscriptions available, with bonus features and perks, including additional free game time.

everything will be prebooked, and prepaid, so you just pitch up and game.

below is a general survey that i am conducting in the interim, while this establishment is in development. please can you complete this survey as it will add to constructive feedback so we can best tune this lounge to suit consumer needs.

Seems like not hey...

You honestly need to rethink your business idea, it has some good points but is not rounded enough to be viable or attractive to most people

The main thing here is, why would anyone want to drive somewhere to go play games if they can do it from the comfort of their own home?

It might be irrelevant, but a friend of mine started a business very similar to this called "Sector 7" in Durban (The Pavillion) and Toti (whatever that big newish mall is called).

The main difference (besides them having regular couches, not recliners :p) I see is that they promoted walk-in business more than prepaid. Walk-ins are a big part of business at a mall obviously, and one of the goals was to be a place where people could leave the kids while they went shopping.

If you're not in a mall, and have no walk-ins, I don't see much chance of it catching on. As @Genisys says, these days people have games at home. So you may find that people won't go out of their way to do that. But going to play some Forza while my wife decides on shoes that all look basically the same for an hour? Hell yes!

Anyway, business went broke, they had to sell, and I can't find any indication that the people that bought it are still running it.

How much do you have to charge in order to pay the rent at the pav?

In Bedford Centre there is a VR centre that is pretty cool. Maybe figure out if they are surviving before implementing your plan.
