I propose we construct a giant catapult and launch Ivy into the sea. You can't honestly tell me it wouldn't be fun.

Good to see MWeb going after Telkom. Bring on the negative PR.

Vapi as usual only rubbish....
Telkom's previous spokesman Ravin Maharaj knew a lot more, a real asset to the company but of course they didn't realise that.

But now, not too sure that the person in the same postion at telkom knows what they're talking about. It's like asking an eskimo for tips on building a bonfire.

Telkom spokesman Xolisa Vapi says the carrier cut its broadband line rental fees on August 1. This, he says, undermines the basis of M-Web's complaint

They are talking about the ISP portion you stupid twat, Xolisa. Grow a brain cell. And reducing the price doesnt negate margin squeeze if you reduce your wholesale price *and* your resale price.

Am I wrong in assuming that If MWEB makes a profit of R28 on an ADSL account (3GB), Telkom makes R180, as they sell the bandwidth to MWEB? So, Telkom makes 6 times more than MWEB for the same item, and has to do none of the work looking after the end user (and then still scores the line rental)

Nope, that sounds right. I'd also complain.

After my experience with Telkom Staff over the last five days I've come to the following conclusion:
They're not bad guys/girls, and genuinely want to help, but there is so much red tape, hierarchy, politics and specialization that the company just can't function.

I had a cable outage, but because it's an "ADSL" cable it took 8 technicians two days to realise someone had pulled the cable out at the switch box, drive over to it and plug it back in again.

. . And trying to drift back on Topic - that's Vapi and Whites problem. They're just PR Monkeys. They've been hired to be eloquent, and spew the cr@p the accountants feed them to the press. They probably don't know the truth themselves, in case they accidentally tell someone.

Surely as a spokes person you want to get at least some of the facts right so that you don't sound like a complete muppet? One day, this will bite him in the ass.
