So I was wanting to know what the performance of ISPs is like on the TT Connect Infrastructure.

Basically with them coming to my area, I want to know what people have experienced with the ISPs. I've selected a few that are available, and offer Month-to-Month.

I'm looking a the 100/100 packages:
Afrihost - 1TB Capped Unshaped (R1797)
Afrihost - Uncapped Priority (R1497)
Cool Ideas - Uncapped Unshaped (R999)
Fredd - Uncapped (R999)
Vox - Uncapped (R899)

I currently use Afrihost for my ADSL, but I've seen potential issues (limited to CT perhaps).

Apart from Afrihost being considerably more expensive than the rest, I've an idea of their performance based on my DSL experience, but what about the others?

So my family is a mixed bag of users:
I VPN to my work regularly, and play WoW and Overwatch, and watch Netflix.
My wife works from home and plays WoW and watches Netflix
My eldest daughter streams.
My son plays LoL and streams Twitch/YouTube.
My youngest daughter plays Overwatch and streams Twitch/YouTube.

Basically wondering if anyone has first hand performance usage for the above?

Thanks in advance,
Blu

I currently have 100/100 with cool ideas and the service has been great. Only had downtime once due to a damaged cable which TT Connect had to sort so can't fault cool ideas there. Line has never run below 95/95 and at R999 the pricing is great as well. My wife streams YouTube and/or Exodus while I play cs 5-20ms ping depending on server location.

Cool Ideas all the way! Their network is tops and they are active on the forums

Fredd has a soft cap, not uncapped like CISP for example.

:wtf: Thank you for the heads up.

I'm currently using 600GB on my ADSL, and I see their capped packages are also rather expensive, even compared to Afrihost :
Fredd R1444 for 300GB
vs
Afrihost R1297 for 500GB.

Hey there

Who did you end up going with? Interested to hear you views now that you may be up and running.

When I work from home from time-to-time, I also use a VPN to access JIRA or Confluence, also game a lot on Xbox and PS4. I tend to buy all my games digital as well and have no issues. Sometimes I do both. I have my Xbox on with the Netflix app running and do work while using a VPN, I have no issues.

In terms of streaming, I use a lot of Netflix and YouTube. Mainly on my Xbox.

There are moments where both consoles are running. There was a point where that was happening for about three months when my brother was staying with me before he got his own place and I never experienced any lag or buffering.

Never been shaped, never been throttled. Due to me downloading digital and games having huge updates + streaming, I can go over 500gb a month easily.

That’s me on a 20/20 package with Cool Ideas and TT Connect. Cool Ideas are awesome. Really helpful, realiable and if there is an issue, they do whatever they can to help the customer out. Also, they don’t throttle or shape.
