Hi guys!!

I've recently bought a 2nd hand MacBook, one of the last White 2.4Ghz ones.

But unfortunately it doesn't see my Telkom 105WR AT ALL. I've tried resetting the device, back to standard, removed all security, access lists etc. but still no luck. All other devices see it, connect to it and use the internet, but only the Mac doesn't. Through an Ethernet cable it works fine.

Is there anything else that I can do to rememdy it? Or do I go to Telkom to exchange it for another router?

I was thinking of getting a new router, but after seeing the shocking prices, I can't right now.

THX guys!!

Does it see other wireless devices?
Try create a new network location profile, if that does not work try create a new user account and connect from there.
worst case scenario logic board fault, best case config problem.

THX dude!!

Yes, the Mac can see and connect to other wireless devices, from ADSL Wireless routers to hotspots created on my Nokia E71. At work it can even connect to the "hidden" network.

At least ur logic board is not fried...try removing the security on the wireless router at home and see if it connects.

I've tried everything - at some point there was no security, no access list filtering, nothing. I've completely reset everything on the router. See, the Mac doesn't even pick up the network when doing a search. And when I try to add the network manually, and try to connect, it just gives a "Network Timeout" message. :-(

thats pretty odd...i dont think it will help but try create the new network location and even new user account and see if by some miracle u strike it lucky... This problem sounds very familiar but i cant remember the fix, maybe a few beers and a nights rest will help..
