MAC or PC?

I'm a sucker for apple mac. I like the neat design, the white theme and sleek look. Pity i can't afford it. How do you keep a mac clean? Must be a mission!

 N7.1 (version upgrade)

This is becoming a bit of he said - she said...
indeed! :D

I've also found that a lot of PC users have (poor) opinions about the machines without ever having seen, nevermind used one.
In the end it comes down to personal choice... and some common sense. If you want a computer for hardcore gaming... get a PC. If you need one for pretty much everything else or you want to get your grandma computer literate... get a mac.
Exactly, I am open to a MAC, heck I might even try it. Thus far I have not been turned for various reasons. I will have to make up my own mind, cause other people's opinions is just that. :p
heheheh, IMO if you need a machine for just about anything get a PC...
If you're loaded and need a machine for graphics / dvd authoring / design... get a Mac
If you're loaded and want a really awesome notebook, get a macbook pro and install windoze on it.
hhmmm ... does that mean I am #3?? :p
oh ok, this article. Saw it on theregister too. This article just smacks of someone that is out to give it to M$. I reserved comment the previous times I saw it. I will continue to do so. :p

The link wasnt for the article but the digg comments where other's had experienced similar occurrences. :)

I can't see the point in using a Mac? What do you do with it? I'm a gamer so it is not an option for me. And I don't want to search the internet for Mac software...

Then you probably shouldn't get one. :)

I work - from home - so I've got macs for that and a pc for playing.

I'm not even sure I would rely on one machine for both even if a pc could do all the stuff I need it to and the inherent redundancy works in my favour.

That might work, but I work on a PC as well...from the office. Is security better on a Mac or what is the benefits?

More secure than Windows on install, but that doesn't really matter in an office environment with Firewalls etc... where you really score with a Mac, is there are like 3 viruses in total written for Macs.

Things like "Office", Winamp, GAMES! LOL, no I'm just kiddin'. I would not use a Mac for the simpel reason that I play games a lot!:D

Many think the Mac version is actually better than the windows one - I hate both equally.

No winamp but there are plenty of others to play with, including a not so bloated iTunes. For some reason mac makes crap windows software.

You can always play windows games under bootcamp if you really want to :)

EDIT - @carlhead - really - mac winamp. Never knew that. Have to check it out.

Looked the same as XAmp, the old Linux amp software... it's bundled with it's on MP3 codec I think... which is cool cause it's got kareoke mode, but the iTunes (which I hate) or built in codec is far better.

I used to run it in OS9 when I had one of those black Clam Shell G3's... you know that machine would last 2 weeks on standby with instant wake up... something my PC still can't come close to doing... not even with Vista.

In fact that mac used so little power you could unplug the battery for up to 10 seconds then move the mouse and you'd be ready to work, just as you left it.
