How do I deactivate authentication on Mac so that the damn machine doesn't keep asking me to enter my password every time I want to move or delete a file/folder?

Is there some sort of command prompt that gets me through to a Mac equivalent of regedit?

It wont. Unless you are trying to move/delete filesystem files. In which case you need to enter the root password.

Like jstrike said, if you are deleting files that are owned by another user it is going to ask you every time, otherwise it wont.
