Good day to all.
I have this version of the Mac Pro i purchased and some time back the Logic board was found to have fried and needed replacement.
Sadly at the time the cost of this (via Digicape quoting) was to be R5000 for this to be replaced, not repaired.
I want to know if anyone here has had a similar repair done in the past or as once mentioned can do such repairs privately? Having checked online there are video's and persons showing how this has been fixed by themselves (not something I would attempt myself though). Of course if so I would appreciate getting in touch with them (I am in the JHB east area) to see if we can come to an agreement to have this repaired.
At the same time I would also like to source parts for this model of this machine, as I would like to update it once repaired. CPU's, additional RAM and Graphics cards i intended to source.
Could anyone who has attempted this or has dealt with someone privately whom has fixed such before please let me know how I may reach them. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or pointers in the right direction.
