Mac Pro Multitasking

Running Handbrake (MPEG2 to divx), Toast (MPEG2 to MPEG2), VLC (divx playback) and iTunes (Mp3 playback).

It doesn't max out at 100% though, ever, no matter what I seem to do, it will just run slower although with this load Handbrake and Toast are going as fast as when they're going alone with the same CPU usage.

Haha, yes, it will just do everything slower but keeps the processor at 40-20% free.
BTW bwana, what does %Nice stand for? Is it NICE CPU usage as opposed to Not-nice usage?

How much RAM do you have?
If you max it out and start using hdd space (swap file), it will be difficult to reach the maximum of the cpu's. I have 16gb RAM in my quad 2.6 and have (rarely) seen all 4 at 100%.
