HI,

I have a company Macbook Pro; with a Windows 7 bootcamp install.

I want to wipe both before I return it. I could just use the recovery partition to re-install Mavericks, but would that mean I would lose access to the Windows partition (ie, would the bootloader be overwritten as well?)

I can wipe the Windows 7 installation as normal.

Do you have the Mavericks install disc and the Windows 7 Key (and a windows 7 install obviously).

As far as I know you'll have to reinstall Mavericks then redo bootcamp to get a fresh install.

I've never done a wipe, but I've done a couple of bootcamp windows 7 installs. The bootcamp install is dependent on the MacOS install, so if you fresh install the MacOS, you'll lose the Bootcamp install.

I don't have either - some guys painting the office "liberated" the Windows disc - not that it will be much use, it is an OEM registered to the Mac. That's why it is worth keeping the windows install. However, I could get hold of a Windows disk.

I should not need the Mavericks disk - I have a recovery partition.

I can get the key out out Windows easily enough. But... the install process of both Mavericks and Windows will take hours. I'm not sure if it is worthwhile.

I was hoping the recovery partition would somehow "know" that Windows had been added, and alter the Maverick re-install accordingly.

Yeah, I don't think it does.

Apple grudgingly gave us Bootcamp, I'm sure they weren't going to worry about nice to haves.

I left the MacOS to install overnight. Windows is pretty quick though.
