MacBook Pro 16- inch or better alternative?

Willing to wait for M2 16" Macbook?

To be honest, and I have been thinking about it if you look at this thread, I am not going to go with Mac. Even though it will support the apps I am using, I am very happy with W10 and looking forward to W11, and I also can't justify the price of Mac, besides the Notebook itself, everything else that goes with the eco system. But yeah, all things considered I think I might take Macbook off the list.

Hows the battery life on the Dell Precision?

Mine is the 3541 with the 51Wh battery. The battery options go up to 97Wh (if this model is still available).

Running NX CAD with some internet traffic typically gives a battery life of three and a half to four hours. Very casual use can go to close to eight hours.

Hows the battery life on the Dell Precision?

The Precision range is pretty much an XPS with Business branding and possibly a few higher end options (like quatro GPUs), so it should be similar to that of the XPS 15, which is good.

Yeah bro. W11 is worth the wait. I would prefer a Dell or a Lenovo brand. I'm currently using an ASUS. I got some thermal issues but I don't know. Maybe its just need a thermal paste replacement.

Is it worth the risk getting something without any warranty? Costs to replace battery on an M2 ? Saw a couple on carb.

As long as it works I don't see why not.

You won't get anything (with those specs) in your budget that was in warranty anyway.

Our Mac's are expensive but also the Max chip is quite pricey i don't know if one even uses that much power day to day unless you're doing some heavy media lifting.

Dell's are good machines i won't argue. They'll never have the quality of a Mac but neither the price tag. For what you're paying they're good and their support is good.

As you say though, biggest downside is Windows...

Honestly every time I boot into my Windows partition it's worse and worse than I remember. I've been using pop_OS for years now.
