It's a decent enough machine but at 4 years old it's a bit of a risk for a buyer. I've stopped selling off my old gear - I just repurpose it for something else.

macbooks are very pretty. why is it too much of a risk?

At that age you can probably expect to have to replace the battery and possibly the keyboard depending on the usage pattern of the previous owner. The SuperDrives were also prone to failure. Wear and tear on the power supply cord could also be a concern.

So what's your suggestion for second hand? To exPensive new.

You can check these all fairly easily. Either visually or with software and bring a CD/DVD to test the superdrive.

Some unneeded notes -

It has a brand new keyboard.
SSD is brand new.
Power supply cords is fine.
Battery is fine. Thought about replacing it, but was still getting a few solid good hours out of it, so didn't bother.

Did you replace the keyboard personally?

What's the cycle count and health of the battery?

And I wouldn't say the above are "unneeded" to a buyer.
