I have a mid 2014 keyboard, often when I'm typing, the keys feel broken. It feels as though the keys are sometimes scraping along the edge of the aluminium, and if I look closely, it looks as though the keyboard isn't aligned properly, it is off center, more to one side.

The arrow keys feel the worst, maybe because they are the smallest. Also when I press shortcuts (eg cmd s), I often can't even press the shortcut, because they key gets stuck. It feels like my worn out membrane desktop keyboard, where I can't press Ctrl anymore, unless I press directly on top of the key.

Should I take it back?

EDIT: I am a touch typist, 60-100wpm. I am not hard on my keyboard, but I do expect the keys to be able to respond fast, otherwise it slows typing down a lot... so I have been having an awful time with this !@#$

Take it in to have it checked out. It is still under warranty (I hope).

What I have noticed with MBPs are the keyboard is still at the beginning, but becomes 'softer' as time goes by. My MBP 2010 keys feel soft, but still works perfectly.

My 2009 keyboard never became "soft"

Your 1 Year AppleCare warranty should cover this. Take it in to the Apple Store.

If you mean macbook pro then I'd certainly take it back and have it sorted out. No idea what your location is but being Core it could take a while to resolve.

As per the title, yes I do mean MacBook Pro.

Yes I am still under warranty, until november.

I will take it to Core, but really need it for work so cannot afford having them take it for long.
