No, but not sure I'd do business with a shop that refuses to give a refund (probably illegal to refuse in fact).They said they don't do refunds so I need to be sure it's gonna work.

I've also successfully put higher speed memory into Macbooks before. I have seen reports around the net of people sometimes having problems putting faster RAM into machines, PCs included. The only issue I've ever had was when the RAM was not properly seated.
I'm using 2x 4GB Corsair 1333Mhz in my mid 2010 MacBook Pro - works fine for me.

What possible reason would I have to keep a list of the laptops into which I have installed RAM?Best list the models then because it doesn't work in some and it's certainly not because of seating problems.

The time I had an issue that was because the RAM was not properly in the slot, it both looked and felt like it was. Took a good firm shove to get it in enough. On another of exactly the same make and model it slipped in easily.

Just note that the newer ram supports lower voltages which the MacBooks don't accept, ram has to be 1.5v. Furthermore the only timings for 1333 and 1600 mhz which work in the MacBooks are 9-9-9-24, there are issues with instability and lock ups with other timings.
Those newer modules should support the lower voltage and 1.5v, so they should work. Older 1.5-1.65v modules likely won't work in new machines that need 1.35v modules. Interesting, would 9-9-9 be the same? The Kingston RAM kilobits and myself mentioned is "9-9-9" according to product sheet.

Wow looks like I've started quite a debate.
Anyways, I ordered the sybaritic 1066 RAM that I listed on the first post & it seems to be working fine.

C would be the only ones that meet DDR3L specifications. A would meet DDR3 specifications. B would be out of spec.I know the newer released ram have either A) fixed at 1.5v or, B) fixed at 1.35v or, C) can vary between 1.35 to 1.5 (this is probably enthusiast class ram and it outside the scope of the majority of users, and is probably the most expensive).
@Speedster, did you remove the RAM, replace it, and then your laptop got stolen?
