Why would you want a non-retina mbp? Why not just get an Air?

MBA's don't come in 15"

I think the only non retina MBP is the 13" at this time.

Can't speak for the OP but I'm also annoyed that the Unibody isn't an option anymore. I like being able to replace the optiacal drive with a second SSD for 2TB of space. I don't mind that the Retina models have unupgradeable storage and RAM - I only buy a new MBP every 5 years or so, and I'm willing to pay the Apple Tax. But the issue is, they're not available with as much space as I want.

I'm also not wild about the glossy screens. My current MBP is a 2011 Unibody with the anti-glare screen (and the 8M Cache CPU upgrade option, which isn't an option anymore). Even though my laptop is three years old, if I buy the top-end model now with the CPU upgrade, I'm only getting around a 20-40% performance increase (depending one which benchmarks you believe). For comparison, when I bought mine, it was a 500-550% performance increase over the then 3 year-old model.

Sorry, bit of a tangent :o
