Aah, I missed that. I'll check mine at home.

Will a travel adaptor work with the earthing or should I cut the plug off and attach an SA 3 prong one?
Only if it is wired for earth (can check it with a continuity tester/multimeter), else you have to cut the US 3 prong plug off and attach a SA 3 prong plug.
When did you get the macbook. My new macbook came with both 2 and 3 pin attachments.
Download and install Mactracker, look for your laptop. Under notebooks you'll see macbook pro, my guess it's a MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010). Under expansion and ports you'll see the specs for the power adapter. The line voltage is 110V - 240V. So it will work in South Africa.
Go to Pick and Pay, buy a three prong standard plug, get side a cutter and screwdriver to replace the plug.
Return the extra power supply or put it in your laptop bag. It's never a bad idea two have two power supplies. As simple as that.
Laptops are designed for mobile use all over the world, people travel and work everywhere. Would it be silly to only deliver a laptop power supply thats only limited to 110V?
Just do it.
I phoned 2 iStores and they told me you can't get 3 pin South African ones.
I got a MBP a month ago with a three pin (bloke in the iStore was stoked to show me lol). Guess they just don't make them as spares yet?
Call the wife and tell her to sit on the macbook. She'll love it.
Besides I don't have a wife.
That doesn't make senseMy Ipad does the same thing, it's a US model, I wouldn't worry, it's just not earthed.

Means there is current leakage somewhere. US electrical standards were never great in all honesty.
