Hi, I believe its possible to upgrade the Macbook pro with retina's hard drive.

My question is where is best place to get the SSD and what kind of prices am I looking at?

Well no not really the Retina's hard drive.

If I recall the Retina's SSD is modular or even soldered to the board and not a conventional hard drive.

But you can buy any SSD and put it in your Macbook Pro...I have one on this Macbook Pro right now.

Any of the OCZ's will do the job.

havent heard anything about the Retina SSD.. but check out macsales.com maybe they have something.

Apologies, im not really techno minded... just saw a you tube video where they show a Retina 13inch(2012-2013) being opened up, and the ssd gets upgraded... Its underneath the trackpad, just one screw and the module just clips out and the new one gets clipped in...

Here's the link for the SSD's that MacSales.com sells for the MacBook Pro with Retina Display:

Thanks Guys... Wow the SSD's are pricy!!

Shipping by FedEx is very cheap though. Remember also that customs will hammer you with VAT on 110% of the value and FedEx will charge you a disbursement fee too.
