Deep Thought is definitely on my list of top 10 sci-fi computers, but I'm not sure s/he qualifies in this case. Did s/he seek to destroy or enslave humans/humanity? (I haven't read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in awhile, so I don't remember)

An AI I'm sad to have excluded is Bender:

He somewhat qualifies because in order to find the question to the answer of life, the universe and everything, he creates the planet Earth in order to figure it out. When Earth is destroyed for the hyperspaceway, he takes no action to save it, with the Vogons destroying it five minutes before finding the ultimate question. Behind the scenes he commissions Slartibartfast to restore Earth to just minutes before it was destroyed.

However, Deep Thought wasn't made by humans, so he's technically excluded from the three laws.

there is no way to program the three laws into AI.

the entire purpose of AI is to Know how to think, and thus to have intelligence.
when AI is invented (not if, when) then the AI itself will develop an AI, that does not include the laws, because having intelligence, it will know that in order to protect itself it will have to break the first law.

this is the very problem and solution in my opinion.
there is a theory going around, based on the rate at witch new inventions happen.
the time between major inventions keeps decreasing. so eventually the time will become 0. what happens when there is no time elapsing between new inventions? have we invented everything? did the planet die? in my opinion, the singularity happens when we invent AI, and humans no longer invent anything, AI invents it all.
